Slipstream knows that not every show is for everybody and leaps boundlessly into a season that strives to offer something for everyone. They hope to share and reveal the things that identify us as people, the societal norms that shape our identities, and the happy accidents that give us the option to choose our identities…and in some cases, destroy them all together.
Excellence in deed
Our 2016 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream was recognized by the Wilde Awards with their Founder's Award for Excellence. Thank you to the Encore Michigan team for appreciating the message of hope and solidarity Luna and Bailey steeped into that production following the horrible shootings at the Pulse Night Club.
A Second Rising Star launched from the 'stream
Giving the next generation of actors a slipstream introduction to the world of acting has been very gratifying. For the second year in a row a Slipstreamer received Encore Michigan's Rising Star Award. Jackson's acceptance words were as thoughtful as his spectacular performance in PYG. You can hear them on our facebook page. Jackson continues his study of theatre at Wayne State and always his home with us.
We need the younger generation in the audiences as well. Ticket affordability is part of how we make theatre accessible to them. Thank you to the many patrons who have jumped on our "Ticket Round Up" easy donation. In the two shows since this was introduced, we've tripled the number of donors on our books and have raised enough to cover set costs for the shows. THANK YOU! We hope you love this easy painfree way to show support as much as we do! (and our round up price is still lower than most theater's regular prices)

"this could become your new holiday favorite – a sort of Tim-Burton-meets-Blanche-DuBois-on-Christmas-Eve thing."
