Kit Martinez is an actor, director, playwright, and activist. In 2016, she became involved with the Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed international conference as part of the local planning committee and had the opportunity to work closely with Julian Boal in developing strategies to directly engage Detroit activists and citizens. A Michigan native, she loves making theatre in the Metro Detroit area because of the incredible intersection between activism and sense of community unlike anywhere else.
Kitis excited to work with Slipstream as a Michigan grown company dedicated to telling stories that they feel passionate about in order to have an impact on the community around them, especially in such tumultuous times as these.
Her special skills include landing a tornado kick in 5-inch heels, accidentally picking up other people's accents, and the ability to lick both her elbows.
